Simply Fun Thanksgiving Kids Crafts

With just a couple of days left until Thanksgiving and our lessons wrapped up for the rest of the week it’s time to get our craft on!  Part of creating those treasured memories of holidays, is all that we do leading up to that day as well.  Outside the rain is falling, inside it’s time to read one more Thanksgiving story and then grab a few simple supplies from the craft cupboard and spend time creating our story of Thanksgiving 2012…  Of course my boy with the biggest sweet tooth wants to do the last project because there are cookies and candy involved 🙂 I am thinking this first project might be a little healthier… “Pluckable Turkey Veggies.”  When possible, there is a link below the image for specific instructions and to give credit where credit is due.  Have a lovely day creating a Thanksgiving memory, creating your family heritage.  “Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord,” Psalm 127:3a.

We Gather Together

We gather together to ask the Lord’s blessing;
He chastens and hastens his will to make known;
The wicked oppressing now cease from distressing,
Sing praises to his name: He forgets not his own.

Beside us to guide us, our God with us joining,
Ordaining, maintaining his kingdom divine;
So from the beginning the fight we were winning;
Thou, Lord, wast at our side, All glory be thine!

We all do extol thee, thou leader triumphant,
And pray that thou still our defender wilt be.
Let thy congregation escape tribulation;
Thy name be ever praised! O Lord, make us free!

–Traditional Thanksgiving Hymn
(A translation by Theodore Baker: 1851-1934)

  1. Thank you for posting these great art activities. We were going on a nature walk to collect leaves to dry and press. We will now also collect supplies to make the turkey using sticks, pebbles, and other fun and interesting things we find on our walk.
    Happy THANKSgiving!
